membership

Memberships are offered on a convenient month-to-month basis with no long-term contract. Students may cancel at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice. Our curriculum rotates consistently throughout the year, so there is no need to wait for the beginning of a month to start — new students are welcome to join and begin training at any time.

Training frequency depends on age and program level. Our youngest athletes (starting at age 3) begin with access to two classes per week. At age 5, students increase to three classes per week. Once students join our main Taekwondo program, they receive unlimited training access, with classes available six days per week. We encourage consistent attendance, as steady training leads to stronger skill development, confidence, and long-term progress — students truly get out of the program what they put into it.

All Little Dragons and Taekwondo students register for classes using the Zen Planner app, available for download on all devices. The app allows families to select classes that fit their schedule while giving us the ability to maintain appropriate capacity limits. This ensures every class provides high-quality instruction and individualized attention for each athlete.

All payments are securely processed through Zen Planner, including monthly memberships, Pro Shop purchases, events, and belt testings. We accept major credit cards as well as direct debit from your bank account.

programs

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art known for its dynamic kicking techniques, structured forms (poomsae), and Olympic style sparring. Rooted in discipline, respect, and perseverance, training develops coordination, flexibility, strength, and mental focus. At Clarington Martial Arts, Taekwondo is practiced as both a traditional martial art and a modern sport, offering students a clear path for personal growth, fitness, and competitive development.

Hapkido is a Korean martial art that focuses on practical self-defense through joint locks, throws, pressure points, and controlled striking techniques. Emphasizing balance, timing, and leverage over size or strength, Hapkido teaches students how to redirect force and respond effectively in real-world situations. Training develops awareness, control, and confidence while reinforcing the core martial arts values of discipline and respect.

No prior experience is necessary to begin training. Our programs are designed to welcome complete beginners and guide them through a structured, step-by-step curriculum. Students progress at a steady pace, building skill, confidence, and understanding over time. Whether you are new to martial arts or returning after time away, we provide a supportive environment to help you start strong and continue improving.

Students are grouped by age, rank, and developmental stage to ensure appropriate instruction, safety, and steady progression. This structured approach allows instructors to maintain high training standards while providing individualized attention within each group.
